Bill Howell, Speaker of VA House, endorses George Allen

This almost got lost in my mountain of emails today ... Bill Howell (R-Stafford), Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates, endorsed George Allen for U.S. Senate. Speaker Howell joins a growing list of notable Republicans across the Commonwealth who have worked with George Allen through the years and know that his conservative, Jeffersonian principles are what we need to stand up to President Barack Obama in the U.S. Senate.

Speaker Howell's release:
“It is essential that Virginia and the nation have effective, experienced elected leaders during these pressing times. Throughout my entire career in public service I have striven to promote fiscally responsible state budgets and bolster our important core services like public safety and education all while avoiding higher taxes or expanding our government. I served with George Allen in the Virginia House of Delegates and I am proud to support him again for the U.S. Senate.

“As Governor, he worked continuously to reduce the size and scope of our state government, and he spearheaded efforts to foster an attractive pro-growth economic environment that helped to generate over 300,000 net new private sector jobs. George led the way on historic investments in public safety and education all while reducing the tax burden on Virginia families by over $600 million. George Allen has truly been one of the finest Governors to ever serve the Commonwealth, and he accomplished all this with a Democrat legislature.

“George Allen is a long-time friend, colleague and strong Virginian leader. He has the experience, the conviction, and the vision needed to get our country back on the right track and restore America’s greatness for the next generation.”
Proven leadership that's needed at a critical time ... that's George Allen.
