Tune in right now to Rush Limbaugh (noon-3 p.m.) to listen to Justice Clarence Thomas being interviewed by Rush. He has written a book called "My Grandfather's Son" (New York Times book review here) about growing up in poverty and how he rose to become a member of the United States Supreme Court. Rush will be interviewing him through about 2:30 EST.
What I have heard so far is riveting and inspiring ... poor background does not automatically mean failure. A rich kid can be a failure just as surely as a poor kid can be a success in America. It depends more on the drive and determination of the individual and less on background. But tune in and judge for yourself ... and be sure to check out the NY Times review of his book, "My Grandfather's Son."
