Campfire in the Shenandoah Valley ...

Smores were popular at the Saturday night campfire.

My brother-in-law has the talent of a master chef. He manned the grill while cooking pork loin, brats, and hotdogs as well as garden root veggies.

Twinkly white lights add a magical touch to the evening ...
Gazing into the campfire was relaxing....

SWAC Husband got the fire going while we were doing kitchen prep for grilling.

We have a rare albino white tail deer ... it eased into the woods at the back of the yard. We also have a young black bear roaming the neighborhood again this autumn ... probably the same one from last year ... reported to be around 150-200 pounds.

It's autumn, it's cool outside, so what better way to spend a Saturday night than around a campfire with the family? My sister, her husband, and SWAC Niece spent the weekend with us to help celebrate SWAC Daughter's birthday so, after a grand dinner grilled by my brother-in-law, we all gathered around the fire pit.

Smores were the order of the evening as dark closed in around us, and we all sat and talked and laughed in the coolness of the night as the fire kept us warm.

It's autumn in the Shenandoah Valley....
