Bob McDonnell in Augusta County

The Bob McDonnell for Governor campaign made a visit to the Valley Thursday afternoon to rally GOP leadership in the upper 6th District as the former Attorney General greeted those who attended and answered questions.

Vintage Bob McDonnell joked and laughed and called on familiar faces in the room, recognizing Del. Ben Cline and Del. Steve Landes as they arrived. A cross section of activists and donors, eager to turn Virginia back to Republican red, attentively listened, jotted notes, and nodded their heads in agreement as the candidate laid out his platform and issues.

All were encouraged to recruit delegates for the Republican Party of Virginia Convention to be held May 29-30, 2009, in Richmond. Conservative radio and TV host Sean Hannity will be at the RPV convention and, in a year that will see only two gubernatorial elections nationwide, a lot of attention will be put on Virginia. Earlier this week Sean Hannity highlighted Bob's momentum, mentioning the Rasmussen Poll that shows Bob 7 points ahead of Terry McAuliffe, an increase of 2 points over the lead Bob had in December.

Watch for news coverage of Mr. McDonnell to continue as he crisscrosses the Commonwealth to ask voters to trust him to take the reins of state government for the next four years.
