Bloggers helping bloggers

Bloggers Row saw more than 30 volunteers covering the Republican convention in Richmond over the weekend. All came with an assortment of equipment ... laptops, video and still cameras, cell phones, ethernet cables, tripods, microphones, and more ... prepared to cover the event.

What I saw during the two days was a group of folks ... some who knew each other before the weekend, others who had just met ... who helped one another by sharing equipment and supplies and generally working as one while helping all.

That sharing has continued after the convention. An example of that is an email I received yesterday from fellow blogger Tom White:
Lynn,

It was a pleasure meeting you at the convention. Thank you for all your help! The setup for the bloggers was amazing.

Attached is the picture I took of you with the young man that gave the wonderful speech. The expression on his face says it all.

The photo is yours to do with as you wish. Perhaps some day you can show friends a photo of you and the new president on his 21st birthday. This kid will go far.

Bloggers helping bloggers ... thanks, Tom, for a keepsake photo from the convention.

Hey Lynn,

Thanks for the warm welcome, too. Until Cathy lent me her laptop, I didn't think to be in blogger's row. Had a great time.
