Step back in time this Fourth of July at Staunton's Frontier Culture Museum in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and celebrate a traditional 19th century Independence Day of days gone by. This outdoor, hands-on learning experience tells the story of millions of immigrants who came to America and became citizens in the Land of Opportunity.
Independence Day will be commemorated with this free event that will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 3. Games, contests, kite flying, food, and ice cream will be part of the festivities.
You won't want to miss the reading of the Declaration of Independence, written by Thomas Jefferson in neighboring Albemarle County, at noon.
It's the Fourth of July in the Shenandoah Valley....
