WaExaminer: 'Angry Democratic delegates boo inclusion of Jerusalem and God to the party platform'

The National Democratic Committee platform took a hit yesterday when it was leaned that any mention of God had been removed and Jerusalem was not recognized as the capital of Israel.

Bearing Drift's Michael Fletcher quipped, "But Tuesday while Governor Abuser Fees re-enacted his role as Obama Cheerleader-in-Chief and while Michelle I-want-to-control-your-groceries Obama sang an extended version of 'Can’t Help Lovin’ That Man Of Mine,' serious changes were happening in the Democrat party platform that weren’t exactly mainstream headlines."

He went on to note that the Democrats had abandoned not only Israel and God but also the unborn.

Now this is where I have to say I know Democrats who are God-fearing, church-going citizens, some who are pastors, all who are upstanding members of society. I had to wonder how they could stand such a platform but didn't dare ask and figured they may not even know what a "platform" was anyway. I mean, isn't that something that only us political junkies worry about?

Apparently not.

On Wednesday evening, Charlie Spiering at the Washington Examiner exposed a crack in unity among the Democrat delegates attending their convention this week in Charlotte when the platform issue came up, Spiering wrote:
In an astounding development at the Democratic National Convention this evening, a motion by Former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland to insert the word 'God' into the party platform together with language recognizing the city of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, broke down into a bizarre shouting match.
It took three voice votes for the motion to pass and, after it did, Spiering noted, "After he declared the motion passed, many angry Democrat delegates booed the decision while others applauded and cheered."

Just, wow.
