A forest fire burning on Sinking Creek Mountain in Craig County has closed a portion of the Appalachian Trail, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
The fire, located in an isolated area about 12 miles northeast of Blacksburg, had an unknown cause and has had firefighters on the scene since Sunday.
