Frost on the pumpkin ...

It was a brisk 21 degrees this morning in my corner of the Shenandoah Valley ... but it was toasty in the house. The woodstove had cranked out heat late into the night and, even though the wood had burned up overnight, there was still heat radiating from it when I came down at 6:00 this morning.

A cheerful fire is again crackling and Palmer Kitty is curled up nearby. The high today is supposed to be in the 40s so I will keep the fire going all day. There is something homey about a woodstove.

It's autumn in the Shenandoah Valley....
