News satellite trucks lined 6th Street beside the Marriott Hotel in downtown Richmond, Virginia.
Looking out from the Marriott, it was obvious something big was going on. Sixth Street was blocked with only one lane open for traffic ... Richmond police officers were everywhere.
Jay Silvio, owner and chief engineer of SkyWire Communications ... keeper of the satellite trucks. What an interesting character. I was taking photos of the line of news trucks and he struck up a conversation. He's been doing this for 30 years, he told me, and knows the logistics of how/when/where to line up trucks that need to point a satellite skyward to send much-awaited news to the masses around the nation and the world. He is one of the many who work behind the news anchors.
Fox News ... what would we have done without them the past decade?
