"Under the microscope, I found that snowflakes were miracles of beauty; and it seemed a shame that this beauty should not be seen and appreciated by others. Every crystal was a masterpiece of design and no one design was ever repeated. When a snowflake melted, that design was forever lost. Just that much beauty was gone, without leaving any record behind."

Back in the home school classroom....
One of our favorite winter studies during the years we educated at home was the study of "Snowflake" Bentley. He took the cold of winter and exposed the beauty of individual ice crystals that made up snow, teaching us that no two snowflakes are alike. Each is different ... each is unique ... each is special ... all are beautiful.
