This mountain farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Nelson County reminds me of my great-grandparents' mountain farm in Grayson County. It was an isolated lifestyle eking a living from the earth.

After driving through the spring countryside in the Rockfish Valley, we made our way back to the Blue Ridge Parkway where the winter woods are still very evident in the higher elevations.
Reid's Gap, hikers, and cyclists. To the left is Cabin Creekwood owned by Deb and Stan Horst, and Sherando ... to the right is Wintergreen and Nellysford.
