Bombing suspect apprehended ... Bostonians line streets to applaud law enforcement and firefighters

Boston's manhunt finally came to an end Friday night when the second Boston Marathon bombing suspect was apprehended. After this city spent hours in lock-down when law enforcement encountered the suspects in the wee hours of Friday morning, resulting in the death of the older suspect and the escape of the younger one, police spent the day searching house-to-house in Watertown. Finally, shortly after 10:00 p.m., the suspect was apprehended.

After it was over, Boston's citizens formed a gauntlet on both sides of the street as emergency vehicles and law enforcement officials left the scene. And they cheered. And they applauded. And they waved American flags and reached out to touch the outstretched hands of emergency personnel as they passed in vehicles.

A Tweet from the Boston Police Department told it all:
CAPTURED!!! The hunt is over. The search is done. The terror is over. And justice has won. Suspect in custody.
CBS Boston has details of the capture. Tonight, Boston celebrates the end of this latest episode in terrorism, and America breathes easy for a little while....
