"Here's a toast to Kurt Michael!"

Today, during the court recess, Kurt Michael's supporters walked to Beyers Street Bistro for lunch ... Kurt Michael, Attorney Francis Chester, and ten others who gathered while waiting for Judge Victor Ludwig to make his ruling.

Former Albemarle GOP Chair Keith Drake raised his glass and proposed a toast to Kurt Michael and, as everyone at the table rasied their glasses, Keith said:
"Here's to Kurt Michael, a man who has endured more slings and arrows in the past month -- and the past year -- than most of us will experience in a lifetime. He's shown more character, mettle, and courage through it all than anyone could ever expect. We should all aspire to his example."
To which everyone cheered, clinked glasses together, and drank a toast to Kurt. It is true. Kurt has been in the press on an almost-daily basis for weeks. He's a citizen and volunteer ... no wonder everyday people don't want to get involved.

The next time someone complains about government or electeds or even gasoline prices, suggest that they put their necks on the line and join the forces of other citizen volunteers from the community. Together, if there are enough of us, we just may make a difference and change the status quo.

Here's to Kurt!
