Del. Chris Saxman to announce "School Choice Virginia"

Press conference in Richmond Tuesday: Special Guest Kevin P. Chavous, former D.C. Councilman

[As a parent who educated her children at home for 16 years, this is a subject near and dear to my heart. Del. Saxman has dedicated himself to working on this issue since he first joined the General Assembly for the 2002 session.]

Delegate Chris Saxman will be joined by special guest Kevin P. Chavous in hosting a press conference at the State Capitol on Tuesday, July 22nd to announce the formation of School Choice Virginia.

School Choice Virginia is a 501(c)4 organization that promotes expanding educational choices for Virginia families to ensure every child has the opportunity to receive the education that best meets their unique and individual needs.

Kevin P. Chavous is a noted attorney, author and one of the most influential and respected education reform leaders in the country, who previously served member of the Council of the District of Columbia. Mr. Chavous is a Co-Founder and board Chair of the Democrats for Education Reform, as well as serving as a Distinguished Fellow with the Center for Education Reform, on the national board of the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools and as a board member for the Black Alliance for Educational Options.
