It's begins today ... an event many wait for all year! The Augusta County Fair opens this afternoon and runs through Saturday night providing lots of entertainment for young and old alike.
Today's Waynesboro News Virginian has a front page story with offerings and lineup. Coupons for $2 off admission tickets are in today's NV because they are one of the sponsors ... entry is $3 for kids 7-12 and $5 for adults.
Entertainment throughout the week includes bands, motocross racing, tractor pull, demolition derby, food and craft exhibits, munchies and rides on the fairway, and the center of any agricultural fair ... the animals.
Local 4-H members will again have a petting zoo featuring baby animals for little ones to interact with.
Be sure to check out the Republican booth at # 56 in the exhibition building, and the Valley Family Forum booth at # 65 across the aisle from the Republicans. Local SWAC volunteers will be manning the booths throughout the week.
The fair is located at Augusta Expoland, I-64, exit 91, Fishersville. You can't miss it ... just follow the line of traffic and look for the bright lights of the ferris wheel!
