George Allen endorsed by Rep. Hurt

CHATHAM, VA – Robert Hurt today released the following statement after endorsing George Allen for the U.S. Senate:
“I am proud to stand with George Allen and support his campaign for the U.S. Senate.

“Since the start of the new 112th Congress, the House has led the way and passed several measures to get our fiscal house in order, grow the economy, and create jobs for all Virginians.

“Unfortunately, our efforts have been blocked every step of the way by an inflexible Democrat-led Senate that remains determined to continue the current status quo despite the very real and negative consequences for the people of Virginia.

“We need serious, like-minded leaders in the U.S. Senate who will work with us to enact those limited government policies that will help put our nation on a more solid fiscal and economic path and move our country forward.

“And as the only candidate in the race with both a strong record of implementing small government reforms and a positive, pro-growth plan of action to turn our economy around by keeping taxes low, unleashing our domestic energy supply, and supporting a Balanced Budget Amendment – George Allen has proven that he will fight for what is in the best interest of all Virginians in Washington.

“At this pivotal time in our country’s history, we need Senators like George Allen who will be a champion for Virginia values in our nation’s Capitol, and I look forward to continuing to support his campaign for the U.S. Senate.”
