Student driver killed in I-81 Rockingham County wreck - UPDATED

Update: The Harrisonburg Daily News-Record is reporting that Robert Lambert, Jr., 36, of Bridgewater, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after this morning's crash on I-81 that killed Harrisonburg High School student Ricky Valencia-Rocha, 16.

A horrible wreck on I-81 this morning has left a 16-year-old dead:
A 16-year-old from Harrisonburg died in a mid-morning wreck in the southbound lane of I-81, according to 1st Sgt. Frank Pyanoe of the Virginia State Police.

A tractor-trailer carrying milk changed lanes and struck a four-door car of student drivers. The car rolled several times, killing the driver. The tractor-trailer overturned.

The instructor and two other students were taken to Rockingham Memorial Hospital. The driver of the tractor trailer was also taken to RMH.
I was on the phone talking with a friend who got caught up in the traffic that was backed up five miles from this wreck. She was going northbound and said when they finally passed it, the wreckage was awful and she was surprised to hear anyone made it out alive. Prayers to the families of all involved and for safe travel for everyone out there....
