Shenandoah National Park
After powerful thunderstorms, tornadoes, and high winds swept through many parts of Virginia Friday night, Saturday dawned clear, sunny, and with much lower humidity levels and temperatures.
A chilling overnight low of 49 degrees registered on the thermometer in my corner of Augusta County before sunrise Saturday and, at mid-day, the temperature was at a comfortable (if you weren't in a swimming pool) 67 degrees. The mountains are sharply outlined against the horizon, a clear indication of the lower humidity levels.
There's lots of activities going on around the area including graduation at Lee High School, outdoor festivals, the Dayton Farmers Market, and much more. Meander the Skyline Drive or Blue Ridge Parkway and stop by one of the picnic areas, check out Humpback Rock Farm five miles south of Afton Mountain, hiking, and camping.
It's a gorgeous Shenandoah Valley day!
