Snow Day ... 3.5" so far

SWAC Daughter measured 3.5" of snow at 10:30 a.m. and it's still coming down heavy with the temp holding steady at 28 degrees....

Had to refill feeder with bird food and turn it away from the wind....
This was taken at 9:30 a.m. with about 2" of snow on the ground.

The bird feeder is a busy place on a snow day. This is the only time the cardinals show up in groups ... I counted 12 cardinals as well as blue jays, juncos, tufted titmice, and grackles. Haven't seen the finches or woodpeckers yet today....

For the latest closings in the Valley check out WHSV TV-3. Blue Ridge Community College closed at 9:30; Albermarle County Schools closed at 10:00.
