Backroads of Augusta County 2009

Back road curves around almost-dry mountain stream.

Picnic tables and leaves at Augusta Springs on a drippy October day.

Mountain stream has low water level.

A mountain road to somewhere....

Fog and rain have hung over the Shenandoah Valley and surrounding mountain ridges for three days. Cold temps and rain are to continue through Sunday night with a chance of snow showers.

Brightly-colored maple stood out in the middle of the national forest.

Mountain stream along Old Parkersburg Turnpike in western Augusta.

Many leaves have changed colors while others are still green. The leaf color season will continue....
