Colder temperatures have moved into the Shenandoah Valley and surrounding mountains through the weekend. Overcast clouds early Wednesday turned into rain by mid-day, and the threat of rain is in the forecast through Sunday. With daytime highs in the 40s and overnight lows in the 30s (and even 20s), weather forecasts say the first snowflakes of the season may be seen Friday night, Saturday, Saturday night, and/or Sunday.
