Wintry weather moving into the Shenandoah Valley....

The winter sky had dark clouds that moved into the Shenandoah Valley late Thursday afternoon. Will they bring snow ... or ice?

Tater and Max stand in their field awaiting the snow and ice.

An old wives' tale says if snow stays on the ground two weeks it is waiting for more snow to join it. Here is snow along an Augusta County roadway two weeks after the last snow fall.

Dark clouds over the Alleghany Mountains....

The weather forecaster is calling for a wintry mix to move into the Shenandoah Valley tonight ... possibly snow, ice, or freezing rain. It sounds as if it whatever we get will not last long because the temps will rise over the weekend. Late this afternoon dark clouds moved in from the west over the Alleghany Mountains, the wind picked up, and the temperature dropped noticeably. We will see what Old Man Winter has in store for us.

It's winter in the Valley....
