Blustery winter day

I woke this morning to find a fresh dusting of snow covered the ground from overnight and blustery conditions with the wind whipping around making temperatures feel much colder than the upper teens registering on the thermometer.

Area schools are on two-hour delays because of icy conditions, and to the west of here schools are closed as that area continues under a winter weather advisory with the possibility of 3-5 more inches of snow.

Sadly, a young man lost his life overnight in an auto accident near Churchville. WHSV TV-3 reported that twenty-year-old Robert Kisamore did not survive a single vehicle accident in which he was the passenger.

Meanwhile, a power line fire closed I-81 at Harrisonburg for three hours overnight between milepost 243 and milepost 245.

It's going to be a cold winter day in the Shenandoah Valley....
