Vice President Cheney addresses VMI cadets Saturday

Were you in Lexington Saturday for the big traffic jam as the Vice President came to town? It was rather exciting for small-town Lexington to have everything come to a screeching halt as the motorcade pass by.

Vice President Dick Cheney was at Virginia Military Academy for the occasion of Military Appreciation Day, an event that was appreciate by many on campus. The Waynesboro News Virginian reported:
One of the Corps of Cadets regimental leaders, supply officer Jonathan Brown, of Coronado, Calif., called Cheney’s visit “a great honor.”

Brown, a VMI senior, said it was meaningful “to meet him and shake his hand. I think Dick Cheney is a great person.”
It was worth the hold-up in traffic to have this honorable man in the presence of a Virginia military academy.
