Congressman Bob Goodlatte held off challenger Sam Rasoul on Election Day by sweeping the Sixth Congressional District with 61% of the vote overall. Augusta County carried the Congressman with 72% of the vote.
Congressman Goodlatte's campaign kicked off with a SWAC-GOP Breakfast in August that led to an all-day event as he met and greeted voters throughout the SWAC area
A Grand Opening of Goodlatte for Congress headquarters in Verona followed on a beautiful Saturday with a great turnout from local supporters that saw Delegates Steve Landes and Chris Saxman address the crowd before turning the microphone over to the Congressman.

Convincing victory, yes. Congratulations to Mr. Goodlatte. Sweep? Not exactly, since Rasoul won Harrisonburg, Lexington and Roanoke City.
