While those of us in the Central Shenandoah Valley enjoy the snow flurries that are swirling around today, our neighboring county to the west is preparing for a decent snowfall.
WHSV TV-3 out of Harrisonburg is reporting that Highland, Pendleton, and Western Grant Counties need to be on alert beginning this afternoon at 2 pm. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the next 24 hours with 5-7" of snow possible.
It looks like winter today with a gray sky and almost completely bare trees. The rain and wind of the weekend took off most of the remaining leaves with the stark winter woods left behind. With temps in the 30s and wind, it feels like winter. The woodstove is cranking out heat making it cozy indoors.
It is late autumn in the Valley....

Heat up some cider and hot chocolate, and if it snows, take lots of pictures.
