Bobby Jindal endorses Bob McDonnell

"Bob McDonnell will be a great Governor for Virginia." -- Bobby Jindal

RICHMOND-Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal traveled to Richmond today to endorse Attorney General Bob McDonnell in his run for Governor. The two held a press conference at The Jefferson Hotel followed by a private fundraiser off site.

Speaking about Attorney General McDonnell, Jindal remarked, ""Bob McDonnell will be a great Governor for Virginia. He has a proven record of cracking down on sex offenders, he is committed to reining in spending, and more than anything, he knows how to cross party lines to get things done."

McDonnell noted, "Bobby Jindal has a record of reform and results as Governor of Louisiana. His leadership has demonstrated what can be accomplished when leaders work together across party lines to get things done for their states. That is the kind of Attorney General I have been, and that is the kind of Governor I will be if given the honor to serve in that office. People are hurting and we need to all work together to create jobs, bring businesses to Virginia, and help every Virginian get ahead. That is what I will do as Governor."

Governor Jindal has built an impressive record in his role as Governor of Louisiana, and established himself as one of the rising stars of the Republican Party. Prior to being elected to his current position he served as a member of Congress, and, prior to that, as the youngest-ever president of the University of Louisiana system, and as Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals. He was a Rhodes Scholar. He is the nation's youngest governor.
