Chris Saxman's Thursday townhall meeting

"The economy is still very unpredictable at this point, and we have to fund our core services, and trying to find the money to do that is going to be a very difficult challenge given some of the obligations we've made."

-- Del. Chris Saxman

With the General Assembly set to convene on January 14, Del. Chris Saxman (R-20th House) held a townhall meeting Thursday night at Staunton's City Hall to discuss the budget and other issues.

WHSV TV-3 reported:
In January, state lawmakers head back to Richmond with one thing weighing heavily on their minds. Virginia now faces a 3-billion dollar budget shortfall.

At a town hall meeting in Staunton on Thursday night, Democrats and Republicans sat down to talk about the state's checkbook and what it means for the Valley.

Delegate Chris Saxman was joined by former Tim Kaine Chief of Staff Bill Leighty to share research and possible solutions on how the state will cope.
The two had worked together on Del. Saxman's Cost Cutting Caucus.
