Staunton on NY Post's list of weekend destinations

Want a weekend destination that has historic sites, great restaurants, ample and varied lodging, recreation, and entertainment? The New York Post ranked the top 100 sites in America for New Yorkers to visit ... and Staunton came in at #42.

The secret of Staunton's charm is becoming well known to those in the travel industry, according to the Staunton News Leader:
Calling Staunton, "One of Virginia's many handsome small cities," the Post cited the dining scene, local shops and cultural attractions, including the American Shakespeare Center and the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library, as why Staunton deserved to be among the top destinations for New Yorkers to visit this summer within a six-hour drive or one-hour airplane ride. Alexandria, which came in at No. 65 on the Post's list, was the only other Virginia destination the paper included in its rankings.
That's good news for historic downtown Staunton.
