The secret of Staunton's charm is becoming well known to those in the travel industry, according to the Staunton News Leader:
Calling Staunton, "One of Virginia's many handsome small cities," the Post cited the dining scene, local shops and cultural attractions, including the American Shakespeare Center and the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library, as why Staunton deserved to be among the top destinations for New Yorkers to visit this summer within a six-hour drive or one-hour airplane ride. Alexandria, which came in at No. 65 on the Post's list, was the only other Virginia destination the paper included in its rankings. That's good news for historic downtown Staunton.
