Ice tonight in the Shenandoah Valley?

The February 1, 2008, ice storm....

2009 ice storm

We've certainly had our share of ice storms over the years in the Shenandoah Valley including the devastating February 1, 2008. The weather forecast from WHSV TV-3 is calling for the possibility of ice tonight:
Isolated flurries and/or a snow shower are possible Monday while we stay under overcast skies and highs in the low to mid 30's. Monday evening brings a mess of snow turning freezing rain overnight Monday into Tuesday morning before turning to all rain throughout the day Tuesday. Precipitation amounts remain between .10-.25", however with ice that's all we need to make conditions slick. Much colder temperatures will be in store for us by the end of the week.
Warmer temps tomorrow should cause precipitation to turn to rain but predictions are for snow by the end of the week with high temperatures in the 20s.
