Back in the homeschool classroom: Home Educators Day at Monticello

Field trips were always a big part of our homeschool years because they offered an opportunity for hands-on learning and provided a chance to talk with historical interpreters who could bring the past to life.

On March 6, 2013, enjoy Home Educators Day at Monticello by taking a walk back in time and spend the day at the home of Founding Father Thomas Jefferson, located on a small mountain overlooking Charlottesville, Virginia, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Special guided tours will be available to learn more about the people who lived and worked there, and interactive indoor and outdoor activity stations will explore a variety of Jeffersonian topics.

Cost for homeschool families will be $15 for adults and $6 for students. For more information, check out the Monticello website.

Take a trip to the past ... step back to the days of Thomas Jefferson.
