Kudos to 2012 BOS chair Tracy Pyles

A transfer in power always causes reflection, and the Augusta County Board of Supervisors' change in leadership this week was no different. With a board that saw a huge turnover with five new faces in 2012, it was anyone's guess how the two returning and five newbie members would work together.

In the words of outgoing Chairman Tracy Pyles, as reported in the Waynesboro News Virginian, it was "the 'best board I've ever served with.' He said the board was 'smart' and 'results-oriented.' "

The News Virginian went on to say:
The Board of Supervisors indeed had a great year in 2012, and, as chairman, Pyles deserves kudos for leading the bunch. As Pyles noted, a renewed focus on attracting business paid dividends last year.
Thank you to my supervisor, Tracy Pyles, for his year in leadership. Here's looking for a successful 2013.
