VA Tech Memorial Service live now....

Virginia Tech President Charles Steger, who has come under attack since the senseless shootings, received applause and a standing ovation of support from students and families attending the memorial service.

Addressing a sea of Hokie burgandy and orange, Dr. Steger said sentiments of support and grief have poured in from all around the world and touched their hearts. He especially thanked the Virginia Tech, Blackburg, and Virginia State police as well as all the emergency responders who rushed to their campus to assist in the emergency.

Those in attendance include United States President George W. Bush and Mrs. Bush, Governor Tim Kaine, Lt. Governor Bill Bolling, Attorney General Bob McDonnell, senators, congressmen, and others in leadership in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Standing ovation and applause for President Bush.... "Laura and I have come to Blacksburg today with hearts full of sorrow. ... It is a day of sadness for our entire nation. ... At this time of anguish I hope you know that people from all over the country are thinking of you...."
