Vehicle wreck causes wildfire in Highland County

In Highland County, a driver lost control of her vehicle near McDowell Tuesday afternoon and crashed into a tree, causing the vehicle to burst into flames and setting the adjoining mountainside on fire, according to The Recorder:
McDowell Fire Chief Doug Siron said there were about 10 volunteers fighting the fire on the mountainside within a half hour. “We need about 20 more,” he said of the firefighters battling the blaze fanned by a easterly wind and fueled by dry brush.
The Recorder has photos and more information.
