Biden's response....

A friend contacted me today to say he had emailed Joe Biden's office as suggested on Thursday by Americans for Prosperity. He passed along the response from a "Scott" at Obama headquarters.
Hi Terry,

Thank you for your concerns.

Barack Obama's record of support for coal as an important step in our path to energy independence is clear and unequivocal. Last year, Senator Obama passed a bipartisan amendment to triple federal funding towards clean coal, and as president he's going to invest $150 billion over 10 years in clean energy initiatives, including money to help speed the development of clean coal technology.

That's just one of the reasons he's received the endorsement of the United Mine Workers of America.

John McCain knows that Barack Obama and Joe Biden support clean coal technologies, despite the claims in the recent false attacks from his dishonorable and dishonest campaign. If Senator McCain were serious about supporting clean coal, he would join Senators Obama and Biden in announcing their support for the bipartisan energy proposal currently before the Senate that would offer extensive tax credits for clean coal projects. He has not, because giving tax breaks to big oil are a higher priority to him than supporting clean coal.

You can read the details of the Obama-Biden energy plan at va.barackobama.com/energy, and you can watch Senator Obama tell Virginia that coal is an essential part of our energy future here: va.barackobama.com/Vacoalvideo

Interesting response....
