Steve Landes celebrates "America's Legislators Back to School Program"

Del. R. Steven Landes, R-Weyers Cave, is celebrating "America's Legislators Back to School Program" by sending to all 11 middle and high schools in the 25th House District a copy of The Proceedings of the Virginia Convention brochure as well as a DVD entitled Liberty or Death, both about Patrick Henry, Virginia patriot of the American Revolution.

The National Conference of State Legislators introduced the back-to-school program eight years ago to educate youth about the job of being a state legislator as well as the responsibilities of the legislature. The program is designed to build personal links between schools and legislators.

Year to year, Landes rotates visits to the different schools in the district he represents. In November, he plans to visit the school systems in Albemarle, Augusta, and Rockingham Counties.

Steve Landes represents the 25th House District which includes the city of Waynesboro, and part of Albemarle, Augusta, and Rockingham counties. Landes was first elected in 1995 and is presently serving his seventh term in the Virginia House of Delegates.
