Latest Rasmussen poll has Romney up 8% over Obama

Power Line asked, "Is Romney pulling away?" in reporting about the latest Rasmussen poll that shows Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney up 8 percent over Democratic President Barack Obama:

It is, of course, way too early to get cocky. But Republicans have to be happy with the way current polling is going. In this morning’s tracking poll at Rasmussen Reports, Mitt Romney leads Barack Obama by a stunning 50%-42%.

I don't know of any Republicans who are getting cocky ... indeed, there is a cautiously grateful feeling for the poll but also a feeling of urgency to work hard leading up to the November election.
