Valley under excessive heat advisory

Heat advisories have been issued by the National Weather Service for much of the Shenandoah Valley as well as other areas of Virginia. Pop-up thunderstorms may be seen throughout the day as the atmosphere becomes unstable with temperatures again approaching 100 degrees.

It was 101 Thursday in my corner of Augusta County as the sun broiled down on our parched yard. This morning is overcast with a small thunderstorm rolling through.

Stay cool out there....
