Dems support troops? Yeah, right....

Try These Dispatches From Little Big Horn

A letter-writer to the Richmond Times-Dispatch had a humorous yet, sadly, all-too-real analogy between the Democrats' disapproval of the President's request to send more troops to Iraq, and General Custer at Little Big Horn. The following is his letter. I want to hear again how much the Democrats support our troops....

Editor, Times-Dispatch:

Dispatches from Little Big Horn, 1876:

Gen. Custer: I am at a place called the Little Big Horn. I am under attack by Native Americans. Will you please send more troops?

Congress: General, we support you and your troops, but we need to debate if a surge of troops is in the best interests of the United States.

Custer: Arrows and bullets are flying all around me. Please send more troops.

Congress: We support you and your troops. But all members of the House of Representatives want to talk about the troop surge. Even as we send this dispatch to you, we are talking about sending you help. We want you to know that we really care about you and the 7th Cavalry.

Custer: Men are dying; men are being wounded; please send troops.

Congress: General, these things take time. You might find comfort that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has pointed out that your commander-in-chief has "made mistake after misjudgment after miscalculation." You need to find comfort in this. Flash! Sen. Barack Obama has a plan to end the war which might work. Hang on, General, while we debate and discuss your situation.

Custer: I need he....

Spank That Donkey said...

Meanwhile, Senator John McCain and Sen. Obama, agree that we have 'wasted' our troops lives in Iraq..

Sad but true!
